And the Winner Is ...........

Does anyone watch "The Bachelorette?"

Well we Bunco girls know
who follows this show.  At a recent bunco
(Vivian's to be exact) we started
a bit of a lottery.  With a $5.00 buy in
you could have a piece of a bachelor

We threw all of the bachelors in a hat and randomly
selected two each.  Here is a list of the original
picks.

As you can see, last night it came down to:
Peggy with Chis L
and
Diana with Roberto.
(Tammie you stayed in there
with Frank for a while)

And the winner is Diana with Roberto

Stay tuned for "our bunco" rose ceremony to present
Diana with her prize

Now I am ready for the next

Patty's July Beach Bunco

Patty's Excellent Beach Adventure

We ladies are certainly lucky experiencing
our "beach themed" summer.
After enjoying Cynthia's cool June bunco,
we had Patty and her gorgeous beach house
welcoming us to her wonderful July bunco.

Heading down to the beach on Thursday,
I felt the excitement of my mini vacation.
Patty, as she always does, invited us to spend the night and
enjoy a day on Balboa Island the following day.
I know some of us couldn't stay over,
but we enjoyed a lot of
good laughs, good food, good beverages and good friends
on Thursday night.

Welcome to the beach ....

We began our evening sipping beverages on the patio....
sangria or margaritas anyone?

Looks like Sangria for Peggy and

Margarita for Cynthia.

Maybe a little of both for Lisa

Shelley and Diana enjoying the evening

and Patty the hostess with the mostess working hard
in the kitchen.

The food, what a spread ...
We had roasted chicken
scalloped potatoes
cucumber salad, slaw salad and
cornbread.
Of course this was after our delicious
appetizers.

The appetizers were so yummy...these recipes
we "need" from Patty.  Patty and Katina if you read this
I am waiting for you to email these recipes

Here's our lovely bartender....Julia and our hostess Patty
having a moment

The eating part was serious business, just ask Lisa

Even Katina...our late arrival...got into the act.
Katina enjoying her beverage

The silverware was darlingly displayed with seashell accents.
Patty you do have the touch.

This is a must picture.  This orchid has bloomed 3 times.  Not
only is Patty a fantastic hostess, but she has a green
thumb as well.  So Pretty!!!

Oops.... Is this Tanya and Julia making some magic concoction?

and then there was dessert....Brownie pops (courtesy of Your Sugar Rush)

and Patty's infamous Peach Kuchen
(OMG! To Die For)

and believe it or not but we did play some bunco....

Cute!
At our age swimming is dangerous...
the lifeguards don't try as hard.

Fun

Charissa had a busy evening...between spying on men across the street
and doing a dramatic reading concerning ....
I don't recall what it was about.
(maybe vegetables???)

Never a dull moment
This is the infamous bunco pose...but
notice her lovely necklace.

and then after a whopping 12 games...we had some winners.

Diana was the most bunco winner, and
won the most gorgeous pitcher.

Patty is a "good shoppa"

Julia was a winner too....but I am not sure I remember
this story she is telling.
Did it have something to do with
Charissa's dramatic reading?

Here is her prize

and our Vivian, who hasn't been
feeling well.  We were so happy she
was able to join us.  We hope you
feel better soon Vivian!!!!

Looks like Katina was a winner too.  Where am I?
I was a winner too.

This was the backside of Charissa's man...remember ladies?

All in all it was a most excellent adventure, and
we thank Patty so much for having us.

Thank you Patty, I think you
may have outdone yourself AGAIN!!!!

Beach Blanket Bingo or Rather Bunco

In the lovely month of June, we
celebrated Bunco at the home
of the lovely Cynthia.
We were told to wear flip flops in honor
of her theme and greeted at the door
with a most appropriate
"WELCOME"

The second, and of course one of the most important
other than Cynthia herself of course,
was the lovely spread of delectables
Cynthia had prepared for us.
One thing about this group....we certainly
love to eat.

and Cynthia certainly had that in mind.
Notice
her beautiful new countertops.
She had just
finished her kitchen remodel and it was gorgeous.

So pretty and in keeping with the theme....
the beverage area

and of course another of the very
important elements of bunco....the gifts!!!
They were wrapped so colorfully and everyone
anticipated themselves to be the winners.

We had a surprise visit from a friend.
Cynthia's darling grand daughter....Sadie

So the play began

as well as the competitive spirit

But of course, like all good buncos, we can only
have a few winners....

Tammie was one of the lucky ones.

As well as Lisa

and yours truly even won the Boobie Prize

All in all another perfect bunco is put into Memory.

Thanks Cynthia, for the memories.....

will be hosting the July Bunco
at her Beach House

the date is:
July 22nd

See you there!!!

HAPPY COOKING

Over the years we have eaten a good many, good things....

We have some excellent cooks in this group
and I am going to start compiling these recipes
and listing them as Bunco Recipes
and also under the contributors name.
Any recipes you would like me to include
please email me.
I will also try and get some pictures to go with the recipe.

HAPPY COOKING

Vivian's Bunco ...............???

In the lovely month of May we celebrated
Vivian's Bunco
Peggy's 2nd Bunco

Peggy usually hosts our marvelous Christmas bunco, but this May
Peggy hosted bunco for the second time this year.  Vivian, our lovely
matriarch has not been feeling well, and was not able to host,
so Peggy, being the wonderful friend and neighbor she is
offered her services
What a wonderful time we had, starting with beverages on her lovely porch.

or at least a few of us did.  Isn't this
lovely with the string of lights?

Peggy cooked for us too.
I was a little late so I didn't get a good
picture of her delicious food, but I did get to eat it.
She made several delicious quiches, salad, rolls and
much more.....and oh so scrumptious

It was a fun and silly night...
check out the highlights...

When you see a photo like this don't you wonder
what they are up to?
My guess would be they were putting a hex on me for
taking pictures.

Here's Patty reading her fortune...and by the look on Julia's face
it was not so good.
No, that wasn't it.
I think we were drawing bachelors out of the hat for our
Bachelorette pool.

It was extremely serious business and very official.
I just wish I had gotten better bachelors.  I heard last night
that Diana might have gotten one of the better potential picks

Here is our resident bag lady...that's right ... Shelley
Shelley's goal was to see how much she could carry from table to table
Next time we may want to give her a shopping cart.
(Really Shelley, you don't have to carry your purse all evening)
She gives two fisted drinker a whole new meaning.

We also had some bell issues...actually we had dice issues too.
Tammie someone, I won't name names
forgot to bring the bunco bag.
This bell worked just fine though.

I can't be sure...but I am thinking Debbie's watching Shelley carry
her purse from table to table...either that
or maybe she is wanting Diana's bachelor pick.
The paparazzi came in and took some random shots
Is this Katina's good side?  I always forget.
All of the tables had such pretty flowers from
Peggy's garden (maybe Vivian's too?)

Shot from the kitchen looking into the dining room
I could be wrong...but I think Charissa is telling
one of her famous stories.

and then came the gifts.  All the gifts were tied with a
cute little bow attached to a girls best friend.....no not diamonds.
COLD HARD CASH
courtesy of Vivian

Here are some random
WINNERS
Debbie

Shelley

Cynthia

and some that didn't win but were still WINNERS

Patty

and Rosie with a friend

and for those of you who don't remember which
bachelor you picked...here is the list

The question is.....WHO SHALL WIN?
Good Luck

Thanks to Peggy for such
a great evening....
FUN, FUN, FUN.
